The National Trail Guide says "the 79 mile national trail over the gently rolling chalk hills between Hessle haven and the cliffs above Filey."

Mum picked this one for summer 2004 - after two years of being dragged round routes of my choice.

Lessons we have learnt:
- Mum does not want to walk more than 10 miles a day (6 miles sounds like an even better number)
- 6 miles on the flat sounds like an even better idea
- nothing gets mum's legs moving like the promise of a pot of tea (with hot water on the side)*
- B&Bs are lovely; less than 3 star hotels are not (really not)
- Yorkshire is actually too far away and we'll be doing somewhere in Hertfordshire next!

*now you know where I get it from :o)
